Resolution Health Engages Johns Hopkins Medicine for New Insights to Improve Quality and Cost Effectiveness of Health Care Delivered to Individuals
Through the agreement, Johns Hopkins experts in more
than 20 clinical departments will review, refine and expand upon the set of “clinical
rules” Resolution Health uses to
patients whose care may not be consistent with evidence-based guidelines and
best medical practices.
Resolution Health is a personal health care guidance company that employs sophisticated data analytics to identify opportunities to improve the quality, safety and cost effectiveness of health care delivered to particular individuals . The company sends messages to individuals and their physicians to alert them to these opportunities.
Using “clinical rules” — computer algorithms that compare the care an individual has been receiving with authoritative evidence-based best clinical practices — Resolution Health performs a Personal Health Scan of information provided by insurers, labs, physicians, other care managers and patients themselves. Resolution Health analyzes data regarding an individual’s age, gender, diagnoses, prescription drugs, tests, procedures, lab test results and various health risk factors — including family history, lifestyle and smoking. Johns Hopkins’ experts are expected to broaden the number of medical conditions and situations addressed by these clinical rules and therefore increase the utilization of the Personal Health Scan.
“Our goal is to help
improve the quality and cost effectiveness of health care provided to all
individuals. We therefore are thrilled about this agreement with Johns Hopkins,
since it brings the expertise of one of the most esteemed medical schools in the
world to our pursuit of this goal,”
