Dr. William Edmond Gerardi Joins Resolution Health as Executive, Medical

Columbia, MD – August 24, 2009 -- Dr. William Edmond Gerardi has been named Executive, Medical for Resolution Health, Inc. He will oversee a team of clinicians and data analysts who identify new opportunities to improve quality, safety of care and/or reduce cost of care, and design interventions to help achieve these goals. He will also be responsible for the design, implementation and maintenance of the computer algorithms that RHI utilizes to identify and prioritize opportunities to improve quality, safety and/or reduce cost of care.

Prior to joining Resolution Health, Dr. Gerardi was vice president and executive medical director of enterprise Health Care Management for Health Care Services Corporation (HCSC), which operates Blue Cross and Blue Shield plans in Illinois, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas. He also led the efforts at HCSC to develop enterprise-wide care management standards, define IT system requirements to support their medical management strategy and implement wellness programs. He was integrally involved in HCSC’s collaboration with MEDecision.

Previously, Dr. Gerardi served as Medical Director, National and Major Accounts for BCBS IL and worked as a consultant at Towers Perrin.

Dr. Gerardi received his medical degree from Georgetown University and an MBA from the University of Pennsylvania. In addition, he is a member of the American College of Physicians and has had extensive involvement with AHIP and BCBSA.
